Swap-BTC.io Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information may be involved when you use Swap-BTC.io, create a crypto-to-crypto exchange order or contact support. It also explains the difference between service-related information and data that is permanently visible on public blockchains.

Swap-BTC.io processes only the information needed for the exchange flow, service operation, support, security and transaction review as applicable. Users should never provide a wallet seed phrase or private key.

Information Related to an Exchange Order

Creating an exchange can involve the source and destination assets, BTC amount, destination wallet address, selected blockchain network, order identifier, transaction hash and other blockchain information required to identify and process the transaction.

The exact information associated with an order depends on the selected route. For tokens available on several networks, the destination network is also part of the transaction information because it determines where the payout is sent.

Information You Provide to Support

When contacting Swap-BTC.io, you may provide an email address, order ID, transaction hash, wallet address, selected assets, destination network and a description of the issue.

Support requests can be sent to [email protected] or through the form on the Contact page. Provide only information relevant to the request.

Wallet Addresses and Public Blockchain Data

Wallet addresses, transaction hashes, transferred amounts, confirmations and related transaction activity may be publicly visible on the blockchain used for the transfer. The exact visibility depends on the design of the relevant network.

A public wallet address is not the same as a private key or seed phrase. Blockchain information that has already been recorded publicly cannot be made private or removed by this Privacy Policy.

Technical and Service Data

Technical information may be generated when the website and exchange interface are used. This can include information required to operate the site, maintain service functionality, protect the service and investigate technical or security issues.

Specific analytics, hosting, cookie or infrastructure providers are not named here because they are not confirmed in the current service information. This policy should be updated if additional provider-specific disclosures become applicable.

How Information May Be Used

Information associated with Swap-BTC.io may be used to:

  • create and process exchange orders;
  • send the destination cryptocurrency to the wallet specified for an order;
  • identify transactions and respond to support requests;
  • maintain and protect service functionality;
  • investigate technical, security or transaction issues;
  • perform risk-based transaction review where applicable.

Risk-based transaction review is described separately in the AML Policy.

Data Sharing and Service Dependencies

A crypto exchange necessarily interacts with blockchain networks, and transaction information submitted to a public blockchain can become visible to network participants and blockchain explorers.

The current project information does not establish a definitive list of third-party processors or infrastructure providers. Swap-BTC.io therefore does not publish an invented list of recipients in this policy.

Data Retention

Blockchain records are governed by the relevant blockchain and can remain publicly available independently of Swap-BTC.io.

A specific retention schedule for off-chain order, technical or support information has not been established in the current published service facts. No fixed retention period is represented here until such a policy is formally defined.

Security and Sensitive Wallet Credentials

Users should never send a seed phrase, private key or other secret that can authorize transactions from a crypto wallet. These credentials are not required to identify a standard exchange order or support request.

If support is needed, use the order ID, transaction hash and other non-secret transaction details instead.

Privacy Requests and Contact

Questions about privacy or information associated with an exchange can be sent to [email protected]. Include enough information to identify the relevant order or support interaction where necessary.

General support options are available on the Contact Swap-BTC.io page.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Swap-BTC.io may update this Privacy Policy when service practices, technical processes or published service information change.

This policy should be read together with the AML Policy and Disclaimer.
